really good game, only thing is I suck so much that I cant land on any of the bases lol. Also (in case you don't know but you probably do) sometimes the ship just stops where its flying and you have to apply large amounts of thrust to un-stick it.

Thanks for the feedback, you are right I have to improve the cinematic ;)

I'm working on a new version with the following changes:

Future Wiilander

  • Cinematic improved dramatically. DONE
  • Stall altitude refered to the "sea level" DONE
  • WARNING on screen and the Wiimote, when your are over the altitude that generate that ship start to stall
  • Increase the thick of the lines of the mountains. DONE
  • New colours, on the ship (and on the fire??) DONE
  • Ship now take off. DONE
  • Bases now "blink".
  • Three levels, increasing the difficulty.. now first level is a little bit difficult.
  • Screen with instructions.
  • Game over only when you run out of fuel AND crash DONE
  • Ship will be a little bit higher on the screen to avoid issues with NTSC users.

  • Support of the Wii Balance Board.. (regarding this change I'll need a beta tester)
Happy to help, let me know if/when you have a version to test. I love this idea!--Wilsoff 00:44, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Any feedback will be welcome!!

Controls...

The idea is brilliant, but the implementation needs work...Its just a bit too imprecise, as I can play very well in the original arcade, but not well at all in this one...maybe a choice of controler? Horiz. Wiimote, Wiimote and Nunchuck, and Balance board(above)? --Atariangamer 19:34, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Screen Crop

When the screen zooms in all the way as your going down, the ship is RIGHT at the bottom of the screen, making it impossible to see where you are headed.... You cannot even see the landing pad until you have almost landed on it. This is probably made worse by the issue that a lot of hombrew suffers from: the bottom of the screen is cut off. In any case, the ship should stay much closer to the middle of the screen so you can see where you're going as you descend....

Great app, but I'm still having this trouble with v0.42. The screen is cut off at the bottom, so it's still hard to see where you are landing until the last minute. US NTSC Wii, component cable to widescreen plasma (Australia)--Wilsoff 10:15, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Zoom glitch

Also, if you press the minus button (-) when the zoom is out or in all the way, there's a quick glitch showing it half-zoomed for a moment.... --Mr. Reaper 22:34, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Comments

Hi Mr. Reaper.. your first commentary is in a different page:

Sorry I duplicate the page with the upper L. :(
Thanks for your feedback, I will fix it on the next release.--Manny2008 23:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)----
Oh... When web servers treat web addresses as Case-Sensitive, it's just stupid! Anyway, keep up the good work; this game is cool. --Mr. Reaper 04:25, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Hi Manny2008. I think your game is really great, and though it's still early in development, it's one of my favorite Homebrew games. Part of the reason I like it so much is because it is very similar to a classic game my Grandfather gave me on the TRS-80 computer called Lunar Lander that I played a lot. You mention emulating a game from the 70s; could I ask which game or console exactly you are making this after? I'm able to complete all 6 landing platforms with ease now, and am really looking forward to additional levels and a highscore board. I will probably write with more testing/suggestions as the game progresses. Keep up the good work! Sandusky 09:10, 8 February 2009 (GMT +09:00)
