Talk:BootOpera
Open a specific webpage
i haven't tested this yet, but can it open a specified webpage? like have it open opera to http://www.wiibrew.org --Yossi 04:46, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- I will have to check this, but it may be possible by passing an argument to Opera. Gannon 05:58, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- I doubt channels will accept arguments...but I could be wrong. It is possible to load Opera from the Nintendo Channel (if you're looking at a game, and it has a website, there's a link at the bottom of the page, and you can click it and it opens in Opera), maybe someone can take a look at that (dunno, use a USB Gecko or something, see what its doing), and incorporate that. Dunno if thats even possible, who knows? --SifJar 13:13, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- Done! Thanks for the idea. Gannon 21:55, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Wow. Impressive. How did you work it out, out of interest? --SifJar 22:13, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- I ended up noticing that there was a new function for loading a channel with arguments, then tried loading with a url as the argument. I was going to load up the Nintendo channel and look through things, but couldn't connect to the Nintendo server to download it earlier today.. Gannon 22:22, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Replace Wii System Menu
Wow, if we could actually do this for all channels (disk load, mii, possibly even VC channels) you could render the actual wii system menu obsolete. Just boot straight to the Homebrew Channel and have all your homebrew and all your official channels in one place! (and without all those annoying animated logos) TheTome 04:22, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- AFAIK, this will load any channel, you just have to edit the source to the title ID of whatever channel you want. Then you can have all your channels listed in HBC. --SifJar 18:36, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- It can, but now has a lot of extraneous things that could be removed. I have been working on a program that has disk, channel, and homebrew app loading. It works, but is still very rough. I may have a test release done sometime soon, but doubt I'll release the source for some time.Gannon 19:08, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- Impressive, I look forward to seeing it! TheTome 19:02, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

crashes
if the program does not find url.cfg it crashes. on a related note, it you do a PAD_init(); in the program, then often time you can get back to the hbc from a crash by pressing the z key. (that's gc controller)--Yossi 10:13, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
