Why don't you add a updatecheck to the application itself? It's supposed to be used on a pc, so why don't let it update on the pc? I wouldn't want to start an extra application on the Wii only to update the exe.. --Leathl 00:23, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
I changed my mind, so instead in 2.0 or 2.1 (i forgot) i implimented a update check.--HUN73R /\/\. 04:25, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, I assume this is how we're supposed to communicate on here...if not, my apologies...anyway, this looks like a handy app. If I may make a suggestion, instead of waiting for someone to create an app to add to the launcher, make it so that anyone can add any app to it they want via some sort of config/preferences interface. :) A couple programs I can think of off hand are 7-zip, maybe a ROM manager for those who are into emulation, WBFS manager, etc...these are things that individual users could be able to add/remove themselves. And before anyone freaks out, just cause someone backs up their legally obtained games to HDD or SD, it doesn't make them a pirate...there are plenty of legal reasons to make backups. >.> —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bg4m3r (talkcontribs) 06:25, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

First of all sign your posts, or I don't know who you are. Second of all, backups are not allowed here. Period. Third of all, I want the community to help out!--HUN73R /\/\. 06:34, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
I agree that it should be possible to add apps yourself, instead of having to have them "approved" by you. 7-zip portable would also be nice to have packaged in, for those who do not have a tool to extract RARs, which many homebrew comes in. Also, perhaps a small app to download and install Homebrew Browser, something most newbies do. I would offer to make said app, but I can't program. --SifJar 14:18, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Personally, I don't have enough programming experience to make my own apps, but I am trying to expand me programming knowledge to let me do that. Do you mean downloading and installing Homebrew Browser the application? I could easily add in 7-zip Portable too.--HUN73R /\/\. 18:18, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I mean downloading HBB from codemii.com (dunno exactly where it is located, but it shouldn't be hard to find), extracting it and putting it in the apps folder, all automatically, as n00bs sometimes have difficulty getting that sort of thing setup. --SifJar 22:10, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi. It's just a suggestion: something to automake the file tree... It's really noob-friendly, isn't it?X) or lazy-friendly--'...But it's only a suggestion. Sorry for my english, I'm french.--CarrotLegacy20:42, 30 December 2009 (UTC+1)
I'm not completely sure what you mean, but do you mean when you first download the program and run it the first time, it will automaticly make the apps folder and such? If so, that does sound like a good idea! Maybe I will add that into the 1.1 release!--HUN73R /\/\. 21:40, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

You should have it packed in a zip archive, n00bs wont have 7-zip installed, and if they do, there is no point in it being in the tool. zips can be opened natively by Windows, so use zip format instead.

I am going to release a bug fix, apparently Notepad++ and creating the apps folder will crash the application, i will release in zip format, and in self extracting .exe format, for extreme n00bs.--HUN73R /\/\. 16:47, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that's it. Good luck, and Happy New Year. PS: Good Job ;)--CarrotLegacy15:51, 1st January 2010 (UTC+1)

Source and why .NET 4.0?

As the project site is stating it's licensed under the terms of the GPL, where can the source code be found? Also, why are you using .NET 4.0 which is currently still beta? I'd suggest to use .NET 3.5 or even lower for compatability reasons. I wouldn't install a beta framework just for this application. --Leathl 23:03, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't have the source up yet, due to the fact I have no idea how to use SVN and I am looking for a client to use it on Windows, do you have a suggestion on that? NET. 4.0 is needed because I developed this on Visual Basic 2010 Express, when requires NET. 4.0! Although I have not checked to see if it needs 3.5 yet.--HUN73R /\/\. 23:32, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Ugh, .NET. I had to install a 200MB monster to make NUS Downloader work. The last thing I want is to install another one. This app really should be made portable in itself so it can be put on the SD card. 90% of PCs likely can't run this because of the .NET 4. I have 7 computers, all XP, none of which have .NET 4 (most of them have 3.5 by now though).--Techboy 01:58, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Because of all this talk about 4.0, could anyone test it on NET. 3.5?--HUN73R /\/\. 02:58, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
SVN Client: I use Tortoise SVN, it integrates itself directly into the Windows Explorer and is very easy to use. To your application: It definitely needs .NET 4.0 (haven't tested the new version). In Visual Studio 2008 (which I use), you can set the required .NET Version in the project properties. I guess it's the same for 2010. --Leathl 15:55, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Is the setting called "Target framework"? If it is I found it, so I might be able to make it 2.0! :D YAY!--HUN73R /\/\. 16:19, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
I tried it, changeing to 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, all of them had errors. :( --HUN73R /\/\. 16:24, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
That might be because some functions are not available in earlier versions or simply that you just need to remove some references --Leathl 18:43, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
I tried to change the framework version with SharpDevelop, but it still want 4.0 to be installed. I guess #Develop just can't handle the 2010-Project.. --Leathl 19:00, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
I didn't develop this is C#, I developed it in VB.NET.--HUN73R /\/\. 21:10, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
I know, but #Develop can handle C#, VB.NET and more... I guess it just can't handle Visual Studio 2010 projects yet, as it's still beta. --Leathl 22:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Submit Applications

Here is a app i started working on for a half year ago, its not finished yet tho. but you can use it if you want:)(cred would be nice;) ): File:Wii SD apps Manager.rar--pbsds 18:20, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

I have been trying to make an app manager for a while, thanks! But, could you PM me on the forum or something with source, I want to make it look a little more organized. ;)--HUN73R /\/\. 03:06, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
It's on your user talk page :)--pbsds 12:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Portable Apps

Wouldn't it be easier to just create a program to work with the portable apps launcher. located here: http://www.portableapps.com R00tdemon 06:54, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
