Bugs?

This has the potential to be one of the best hombrew games, but I'm having some issues with it.

The levels do not play in the correct order for me, so I get to play the harder levels before the easier ones (the level that looks like an "A" plays first by default).... There is something very wonky about the way it's putting them in "alphabetical order." The only way I could get it to work was by renaming the files like:

Aa.xml Bb.xml Cc.xml ...

This did NOT work:

A.xml B.xml C.xml ...

Nor did this:

a.xml b.xml c.xml ...

nor did this:

aa.xml bb.xml cc.xml ...

What's up with that?

Then I tried to add in Danny's custom levels, but it seems that they won't play until I've gone through the standard levels first despite how I name them, and it makes me play his hardest level first.... Kinda annoying..... And very hard! I'd like to play his other levels too, but it's so hard to get past the super-hard one!

Anyone else have this issue?

EDIT: This is just getting more confusing. I tried deleting all my level files and copying just Danny's levels on to my SD card again without renaming them, and then they worked in the correct order.... Then I deleted those and copied just the standard levels and now they were working in the correct order -- they never did before even with the default file names. So then I re-copied my previously renamed files back and this time they run in a completely different order than they did before! There's something strange going on, as if it's looking at the date of the file or something other than just the file name when it decides what order to run the levels in. Frustrating. I'd still like to have both the standard levels and Danny's levels to play (alternating them in the game), but I can't get them to run in any kind of order because I get unexpected results whenever I try to do any file renaming to try and set them in any kind of order....


Hey this is Danny. I think the problem you are having is because of the way the are named in the xml files. I'm not quite sure though, its been a while. You can try editing them in the level editor and see if you can fix it. Glad to see someone uses the levels I made :D --Danny37415 15:56, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

I like your levels -- more levels to play is good. I did try renaming the levels in the xml files using a text editor, but that didn't seem to help fix the order they play in (I don't have java set up so I can't use the level editor). --Mr. Reaper 20:44, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Another bug I think I've noticed: in the xml files I see that some of the bones are supposed to be scaled up larger, but when I play the game, the bones always seem to be exactly the same size. That makes it too easy on the level where the bone is supposed to be large, I think....

I see large and small walls, but the bones never change size. Is that how it is for everyone else?

Also, it would be really handy if the screen would actually display the title of the level, so you have some idea as to which level you're playing....

Custom Levels

I dont mind making a couple of levels either Warpedflash

Does not work.

Upon loading, it shows a black screen, with some writing, and then returns to the loader.

Kudos, Beardface -- this game is great! One suggestion: can you make the bone rotate around the same point as the tweezers? They seem to rotate independantly, which is a little off-putting. -aksommerville
