Thanks, I'll definitely look into that. Paulwagener 23:49, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- One other thing -- if your geometrical mathematics skills are up to it, I reckon you could fairly easily make the map feel like a globe. You'd need to make a black mask for it with a transparent circular window in the middle through which the map could be seen, complete with faded edges around the map area to create the illusion of a vanishing point (sort of). Then, you'd need to (and this is the mathematical bit) work out an algorithm for 'bulging' the map in certain areas in keeping with the illusion of having created a sphere. Nearer the middle, a 4x4 block of pixels might be magnified by a certain factor, and this factor would be reduced from the centre of the circle outwards to the edge. Upon the user zooming in, eventually the mask would disappear, and the bulging effect would become negligible. Let me know what you think. (and p.s: ignore what people are saying about adding a UI. The beauty of your app is in its simplicity). --Pinecone 23:20, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
In case you want a WiiEarth channel - http://wadder.net/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=301&p=2311#p2311 . Apologies for dropping this here as you'll probably want to delete this post once you've used it (wads being bad and all), but I didn't how else to contact you. I hope you like it.
- Oh my god, I absolutely love what you just did there. What a great way to use my homebrew. Though now I feel obligated to make WiiEarth just as shiny as the banner. Paulwagener 13:30, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi Paul, I've put another images for WiiVNC. If you still need one with black background I can send to you, what dimensions do you need? This is the first time that I publish on wiki and I need help to delete unused images, can you help me? thanks --squeeze 15:35, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Squeeze, just sent me the biggest one (500px+) and I'll scale it for use in the program. Thanks again! Can't help you with the wiki images, I suppose admins need to delete those unused images. Paulwagener 15:58, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
