under development/removing from wiki?

So, shall we dig up all the other non-working apps from the last few months and add them back now too? Quality control not as important as I thought then. Stalkid64 —Preceding undated comment added 15:03, 14 May 2008 (UTC).

This is an app under development , being bugfixed and improved each day . Not working for all yet , but I dont see your point at all . you seem angry because no one liked that you removed the app from the wiki . relax . Turn off WC24 and it will work , mate . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.49.149.62 (talkcontribs) 00:59, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Don't assume you know how I'm thinking. kthx. Stalkid64 —Preceding undated comment added 13:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC).

Some tests by robertfisk

"There are lots of lag when using the mame menus for loading\saving .Select new game takes a long time to display as well .Memory issues with gclinux probably . Most games below are cps-1 games afaik:

-Prickies (j) - runs fine -1941 - runs ok - some sound issues and glitches -Megaman power battle - runs ok . Lag in loading seqs + sound issues -Cadillacs & dinosaurs - ok , but crashed when going back to game from menu -Quiz and dragons - runs to fast , otherwise ok -King of dragons - ok , crashed after saving state -Street fighter 2 champion edition - ok , crashed after entering menu -Sat.night slam masters - ok - lag while loading sequences -Capsom world 2 (J) - ok -Nemos world - ok , crashed after save -Final fight - runs fine , long lag after save -Ghouls n ghosts - ok -3 wonders - ok -Mega twins - ok -Area 88 - ok -Chiki Chiki boys - ok -Strider Hiryou - ok -Paparazzi - ok -Dynasty wars - ok -Jumping pop - ok -Aerofighters bootleg - crash on startup -Battle Toad (not cps1) - works well -Doubledragon3,Rosetta stone - ok -Ridge racer (not cps1) - Linux exception and crash on startup -Thunder dragon - ok -Slowhand - ok , but needs keyboard -Shinobi (not cps-1) - ok -Super bishi bashi champ - ok ,but crashed on mame menu

All the roms above took about a minute or two to load up in Mame. Not bad at all.

By ok , I dont mean perfect .A few glitches in both sound and picture on most of them, but perfectly playable . I am not sure if the save errors are game spesific , but they seem kinda random to me,so I think there still are some savebugs to work out. A different thing i noticed was that the keyconfig changed after some reboots . Seemed random . Had to define them again in input settings from time to time ." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.49.149.62 (talkcontribs) 03:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Current Status

Has any more progress been made with this?? - JD 15:04, 8 June 2008 (CEST)

Direct port

Someone should just port MAME (or better yet MAMEUI) directly as a Wii game (shouldn't be too hard as MAME and MAMEUI are open source), and not through Linux. I'm sure this would boost speed significantly. Fartboy 05:33, 23 July 2008 (CEST)

I second this motion! --SquidMan 01:44, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
It sure should improve alot the actual MAME, using libgc, I've heard that still hard due the great nember of bios and files that is necessary port--TunaLover 01:40, 15 feb 2009 (UTC) —Preceding undated comment added 15:19, 15 February 2009 (UTC).

Can't find roms?

MAME and mamefs-fs are in the root of the SD card. boot is in \Apps\SDLMame\. The rom is in \mameroms\. But Mame doesn't find the rom. What shall I do? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Woku (talkcontribs) 18:32, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I think the roms needs to be zipped, are they still zipped in SD:\mameroms ? -Crayon 07:01, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Unable to located mamefs-fs

Hey, Can anyone please tell me what to do if I get

"sorry, I am unable to locate mamefs-fs" "will retry in 10 seconds"

Thank you.

Did you put the file mamefs-fs on the root of your SD card? -Crayon 07:01, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I have the same problem. boot.elf and mamefs-fs are in root of SD. Folder 'mame' and 'mameroms' are in root of SD. 'mame' folder contains folders 'cfg' and 'nvram'. I cleared 140MB for free space on SD. Does gc-linux/mame need more space? I disabled WC24. It still can't find mamefs-fs. Does this require SD card in GC/Gecko adapter? Any other libraries/cIOS stuff required? What about file system? My card is formatted FAT, not FAT32.
